About Mary Ann Thomas

Mary Ann Thomas has over 30 years of experience generating revenue for both commercial industry and nonprofit organizations.
Mary Ann began her career in the emerging technology sales market in the 1980s. She exceled in account management and new business development, then parlayed that experience into a successful career in nonprofit fundraising, applying her systematic sales approach — setting goals, creating a prospect pipeline, and tracking progress to generating revenue for charitable organizations. Her clients and employers include Classroom Central, Freedom School Partners, The Harvest Center, the Charlotte Ballet, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charlotte, and the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte. While she has a broad range of experience in nonprofit organization development and fundraising, she has been particularly active in combating chronic homelessness and poverty in Charlotte and founded Homemakers of Mercy at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, which helped move hundreds of women and children beyond homelessness.
